Dellaphine's Story
Yo Knights....what's up? I am now in Dakar, Senegal West Africa where I am the Country Director for a large international organization, ActionAid Senegal. I started on March 10th and it has been quite intensive and involved....but hey...I am a Black woman and this ain't nothing but a change of scenary....it's all good and everyday I say "Bring it On"!!!! I am closely following the plans for the next reunion and will try to coordinate my travel so I can attend.....would love to see you Mighty Mighty Knights and reconnect and laugh and reminence and just have a good time. I am keeping my former profile because it is who I am and I am where I want to be and always looking to improve. And yeah, I love and am still from Southeast DC and with all the crap going down in the US of A, I would like to corner a couple of republicthugs, take THEM to the sho' nuff Ballou hoop and THEN take them out!!!! They need to see some serious SE DC/Africa/African American crazy.....and it would be MY PLEASURE to sock it to 'em. Yeah, I am still on the battlefield BECAUSE IT STILL IS A BATTLE FIELD and ain't nothing changed but time. We need to still fight the best fight ......and we can STILL turn this mutha OUT!!!!
Once a true revolutionary.....ALWAYS A TRUE REVOLUTIONARY! I always try to keep my head to the sky!!!

w African-american President, I now live and work overseas in Africa as a Country Director for a large international development organization and have been living in Africa permanently since 1987 having travelled extensively in East, West and Southern Africa, Southeast Asia and Indoensia, Haiti and in Europe. I have held a number of Director positions and have had the opportunity to do some wonderful development work in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean and yes, I TOOK "Southeast and Ballou" to Africa each and every time! I speak French fluently and would dearly LOVE to contact Mr. Caisson, our french teacher, who told me that I would "never speak french" and gave me the only "F" I ever received on my report card! (Does ANYBODY know where I can find him? (smile) I am married and have a wonderful husband and son (andyes, I keep the "skanks" off him) and I visit my family in the US each year. I joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority after graduating from The American University in 1977 and I have not changed in my outlook, my convictions nor my stance regarding Black Power and Empowerment for Black People. I am in the process of opening my own international development, international human resources firm and my goal and desire, when I DO return home, very shortly, will be to run for Ward 8 City Council Representative because I am STILL southeast and there is STILL so much to be proud of! I would truly love to re-connect and re-touch all my fellow '73 Knights because we WERE the Ballou High Class that TOOK EVERYBODY TO THE HOOP! Take care everyone, we must remain strong and THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO BE PROUD OF BEING AFRICAN AMERICAN....SAYING IT LOUD AND SAYING IT PROUD!!!!....
